Kitchen and Laundry Equipment for Schools, Fitted Around Term Time
Every school has a kitchen that has to feed hundreds of people in about forty minutes. Boarding schools, colleges and student halls have laundries on top of that. We supply, install, service and repair both, and we work around your term dates rather than through them.
The kitchen is the part most equipment suppliers ignore
Laundry companies sell to boarding schools and student halls. That leaves out almost every primary school, secondary school and academy in the country, because they don't have a laundry. They all have a kitchen.
We cover both sides. If you're a day school, we're your catering equipment supplier. If you board students or run halls, we're that plus your laundry. Either way it's one contract and one number.
Who we work with
Primary and secondary schools
A school kitchen serves an enormous number of meals in a short window, on equipment that's often been in place for fifteen years. We supply and install combi ovens, ranges, dishwashers and refrigeration sized to your pupil numbers, and we service what you've already got. If a servery is slowing lunch down, we'll look at that too.
Academy trusts and school groups
Several kitchens, several sites, and usually several different suppliers inherited from before the trust formed. We'll take on the estate, standardise equipment where it makes sense, and give you one point of contact plus visibility of every site's service history in one place.
Independent and boarding schools
Boarding means the kitchen runs three meals a day, seven days a week, and there's a real laundry behind it handling bedding, sports kit and uniforms. We spec and maintain both, sized to boarder numbers rather than guesswork.
Colleges and further education
Training kitchens need equipment students will actually meet in industry, not something simpler that leaves them unprepared. Hair, beauty and sports courses generate constant towel and gown washing on top. We supply commercial standard equipment for the training side and the catering side, and keep it running through the academic year.
Universities and campus accommodation
Refectories, cafés and catered halls on one side, laundry rooms across residences on the other. We handle both, including coin and cashless systems so residence laundry is properly managed rather than a running argument at the accommodation office.
Student accommodation and private landlords
A working laundry room is a letting feature, and on a cashless system it brings in revenue rather than costing you. We'll spec the room, fit the machines and the payment system, and look after it so you're not fielding calls about a broken dryer in freshers' week.
Nurseries and early years settings
Small kitchens, plus constant washing of bedding, bibs and towels to a hygiene standard that gets inspected. Domestic machines don't survive it, and nurseries are one of the few education settings that genuinely need a washing machine as well as a kitchen. We fit compact commercial equipment that suits the space and the budget.
We work to your calendar, not ours
Schools do their equipment work in the holidays. Everybody knows that, and then everybody rings in July asking for an August install.
This is already how most of our education work runs. Book early and you get the slot. We'll survey during term, order ahead, and fit in the summer break so you open in September with everything working and tested. Smaller jobs fit into half terms.
If something fails mid term, our emergency line is open 24/7 and school kitchens get priority. Lunch can't be postponed.

Fitting out a new build or replacing tired kit in an existing kitchen, we'll survey the space and spec to your numbers rather than selling you the biggest machine on the page.
Budgets, purchase orders and finance
Education buying doesn't work like everywhere else. Capital and revenue budgets are separate, spending has to land in the right financial year, and purchase orders go through more than one person.
We're used to it. We'll quote in a format your business manager can put in front of a governing body or trust board, work to purchase orders, and offer leasing or rental if spreading the cost across years works better than a single capital spend. We're Constructionline Gold accredited, which covers most of the supplier checks a trust will run before they can buy from us.
Maintenance plans
Planned servicing in a school does two jobs. It stops the breakdown, and it produces the paperwork you need on file.
We run three levels of cover, Silver, Gold and Platinum, across kitchen and laundry equipment. Every plan includes scheduled visits from DBS checked engineers and access to our customer platform, so a business manager looking after several sites can see the whole picture without ringing round.
Visits are scheduled around term dates wherever possible.
Cutting your running costs
Utility bills are one of the few costs a school can actually reduce without touching staffing.
We supply energy and water efficient machines, from heat pump dryers to low consumption dishwashers, with up to three years manufacturer warranty. Paired with low temperature detergents, the saving shows on the bill rather than just in the brochure.
It also helps with the sustainability commitments most trusts and universities now report on.
The credentials behind the work
Gas Safe registered, and we issue CP42 gas safety certificates for catering and laundry equipment on an annual cycle. Constructionline Gold accredited. Qualified to 18th edition for electrical installation. Our engineers are DBS checked. We carry £10 million public liability and £5 million employers liability cover.
Ask and we'll send the certificates across.
School and university kitchen questions
1
We're a day school with no laundry. Are you still relevant to us?
Yes. The kitchen is most of what we do in education. Laundry only comes into it if you board students or run halls.
2
Can you do the work in the school holidays?
Yes, and that's how most of our education work runs. Book the survey during term and we'll schedule the install for the break.
3
Do you service equipment you didn't supply?
Yes. We work across the major commercial catering and laundry brands, so you don't need to replace working equipment to move your servicing to us.
4
Can you cover every site in our trust?
Yes. We work with multi site operators and give you one point of contact across the estate rather than a different arrangement at each school.
5
Can you quote in a way that suits our purchase order process?
Yes. We'll provide a written quote suitable for a business manager, governing body or trust board, and work to purchase orders.
6
Can we spread the cost instead of buying outright?
Yes. Leasing and rental are available, which often suits an annual budget better than a single capital spend.
7
Can you set up laundry rooms that take payment?
Yes. Coin and cashless systems are straightforward, and in student accommodation they turn the laundry room from a cost into income.
8
Are your engineers DBS checked?
Yes. Every one of them, which matters when the work has to happen during term time.
9
Do you handle our gas safety certificates?
Yes. We're Gas Safe registered and issue CP42 certificates annually for catering equipment, and for laundry equipment where you have it.
10
What happens if something breaks during term time?
Our emergency line is open 24 hours and school kitchens are prioritised. Our vans carry stock for the brands we look after, so most faults are fixed on the first visit.
11
Do you cover our area?
We're based in the North West and cover Lancashire, Yorkshire, the Midlands and North Wales directly, with national coverage for larger groups and multi site operators.
